Microsoft Teams Training & Services

Microsoft Teams is the chat-centered workspace that is integrated with Office 365. It gives teams instant access to everything they need in a dedicated hub for teamwork where chat, content, people, and tools live together in Office 365.

Technology can play a vital role in reducing the impact of COVID-19 on people and organizations, including helping people stay productive at work when they’re not able to be there physically. Use these resources to get your users up and running on Teams and reach out to iV4 for assistance.

Who Can Access Microsoft Teams?

If you have Office 365 (Business Essentials, Business Premium, E1, E3, E5) then you already have Microsoft Teams. But what you can do with Teams depends on your licensing and the add-ons you have. Learn more about Microsoft Teams license options here.

You need to be an Office 365 global administrator or user management administrator to manage Microsoft Teams licenses in the Office 365 admin center.

How do I get access to Microsoft Teams? FAQs
I have an Office 365 subscription. Why can’t I access Microsoft Teams?

If you have a personal Office 365 subscription, you won't be able to access Microsoft Teams. To access the app, you need one of the following Office 365 license plans:

  • Business Essentials
  • Business Premium
  • Enterprise E1, E3, or E5

If you’re licensed for a non-suite plan like Skype for Business Online Plan 2, then you won’t be able to get the app. Talk to your IT admin or iV4 about changing your license or purchasing additional licenses for your company.

Once you’ve got the right plan, your IT admin will need to make some additional changes to enable full functionality. If you happen to be that admin, here's more information for you.

I think I have the right Office 365 license. Why can't I access Microsoft Teams?

Your company's IT administrator needs to flip the switch to give you access to Microsoft Teams.

IT administrators may also need to do additional configuration work, such as updating firewall policies, to ensure employees can fully use Microsoft Teams. Reach out to iV4 if you're not sure how to do this.

If you're the IT admin, here's the information you need to enable the app and configure things correctly.

Is there a free version of Microsoft Teams I can use?

Short answer, yes there is a free version Teams. If you're signed in to an Office 365 work or school account, you won't be able to sign up for Teams free.

Before you sign up educate yourself on the differences. Here are some of the key differences between Teams free and Teams.
